Celebrating Telstra Award for Energy Efficiency Work

Enginuity Power Solutions has been named the Tasmanian State Winner in the Telstra Best of Business Awards for Promoting Sustainability. This honour recognises our innovative work in reducing energy waste and carbon emissions, and our mission to future-proof businesses through smarter, more efficient energy use across Tasmania and beyond.

We’re incredibly proud to share that Enginuity Power Solutions has been named the Tasmanian State Winner in the Promoting Sustainability category of the Telstra Best of Business Awards.

In addition, this recognition is more than just a milestone, it’s a powerful affirmation of our commitment to creating a cleaner, more energy-efficient future.

According to Telstra, “The Telstra Business Awards were created to celebrate the achievements of (these) businesses, while giving (them) the opportunity to learn from Australia’s best business minds.” The awards have been in existence for 28 years and present in seven categories: Accelerating Women, Building Communities, Championing Health, Embracing Innovation, Indigenous Excellence, Outstanding Growth and Promoting Sustainability.

A Year of Growth, Reflection, and Recognition

The Telstra Best of Business Awards journey has been an almost year-long process, from written applications and video submissions to interviews and a comprehensive business pitch. As a small, regional start-up based in Tasmania, being acknowledged at this level is both humbling and deeply rewarding.

“This recognition means so much to us,” said co-founder Claire Green. “The process has been a valuable opportunity to reflect on our business practices and achievements. Surviving and thriving in business in regional Tasmania is a real feat! It’s also helped us grow not just as a business, but as advocates for a more sustainable energy future.”

In the Promoting Sustainability category, judges look for small and medium businesses that are reducing their environmental impact and driving sustainable change for the planet. Because sustainability is so important to all of us, consequently it has become a competitive space, moreover it’s tough to stand out. Thankfully, we’ve demonstrated a market edge, and we’ve been blessed many times over winning several awards for our work.

Building on a Year of Substantial Wins

This award builds on what has already been an exceptional year for Enginuity Power Solutions. Earlier in 2025, we were honoured with:

These accolades recognise not only our technical and innovative capabilities, but also our leadership in delivering energy solutions that matter.

Next, they represent an important step in our mission to future-proof businesses through smarter, more efficient energy use. Together, they affirm that our approach, reducing wasted energy before investing in new infrastructure, is both impactful and necessary.

Our Winning Approach to Sustainability

As electrical engineering consultants we help large-scale energy consumers reduce electricity consumption, design energy efficient solutions and lower carbon emissions through data-driven, tailored solutions. Our philosophy of reducing wasted energy first is what differentiates us from other businesses. Furthermore, since our inception in 2021, our projects have reduced our clients’ carbon emissions by over 6.5 million kg annually, saving over $3.4 million in energy costs. Not only that, it’s about enough energy to power 2,100 residential homes every year!

In a recent trial study, we demonstrated how we could reduce energy expenditure by 42%. Learn more here.
We understand within many organisations, onsite electrical technicians are tasked with maintaining, fixing, and replacing equipment to keep operations running smoothly. On the other hand, ESG Managers are looking for ways to demonstrate how the company is achieving efficiency targets and making progress towards net-zero goals. These two critical roles often work in isolation, missing opportunities to collaborate on shared objectives. Our approach to provide demonstrable outcomes helps achieve results for both electrical technicians and ESG Managers alike.

Why Energy Efficiency is Central to Promoting Sustainability

The Promoting Sustainability category recognises businesses that are taking meaningful, measurable action to reduce environmental impact and lead the way toward a more sustainable future. For us, this category could not be more aligned with our purpose. Our mission has always been clear: the cleanest, greenest, and safest energy is the energy we don’t use. As a result of helping businesses reduce wasted energy before investing in new infrastructure, we’re addressing the root causes of inefficiency and carbon emissions. This approach not only lowers costs for our clients but also drives systemic change in how energy is consumed. Importantly, being recognised in this category affirms that our work is not just innovative, it’s essential.

Eyes on the National Stage

As we prepare to represent Tasmania at the Telstra Best of Business National Awards in November, our focus remains steadfast: to foster a greener, more sustainable future by changing how energy is consumed.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to our incredible team whose shared passion makes this possible. This is as much their award as ours. And to the other finalists, congratulations and the very best of luck on the national stage.

In conclusion, we look forward to what comes next, moving forward, innovating, and continuing to deliver energy solutions that reduce waste and emissions for a stronger future.
